Collaboration with Susanne Sundfør

I fell in love with OJ while listening to “Black Widow” by Susanne Sundfør. It was part of a very special playlist, and I still remember the day she started following me. I was smiling from ear to ear, thinking This incredibly talented and beautiful soul actually wants to see my work.

I wrote to her, thanking her for her music and for the following, and she wrote back saying she loved my pictures!

One year ago, she called me, and we talked for hours on the phone. It felt like talking to a dear friend, a soul sister.

Little did I know where that connection would lead.

Susanne went on to have a home birth with her second child, and she was inspired to create this beautiful music video using my birth photography.

And she didn’t do it alone. The video also features the incredible Margreth Olin, one of Norway’s most respected filmmakers.

I absolutely love what happens when powerful women and artists come together around birth. Together, we can show just how strong, raw, beautiful and powerful birth can be, while helping to normalize it.
