Fuck META

If it weren’t for META and all their bullshit, this page might never have happened.

I haven’t had a website in almost 15 years. My clients have found me through social media, so honestly, I never really felt the need for one. But now? I’m so sick and tired of playing by their rules (rules they don’t even seem to follow themselves).

According to META’s own guidelines, birth photography falls under education and awareness of women’s health and is therefore allowed. Since 2018, I’ve had a special agreement with META. I was, and still am, the largest birth photography account in the world, and I was able to share my work freely.

But in 2023, AI became part of their technology, and suddenly my account was no longer safe.

I’ve been banned, shadowbanned and repeatedly silenced. Not only have they taken my account down for weeks and sometimes months at a time, but I’ve also spent hundreds of hours trying to get it back. Last year, it took me four months. And now, I’m finally back after another seven-week ban.

And it's not just that. Instead of growing my audience through all the work I put into creating and sharing content, I’m losing thousands of followers.

And that's why I decided to create this space.

A place where no one gets to censor me. Where I can share what I want, when I want. A place to showcase my work, tell stories, write about the things that matter to me and share all the little and big things I feel like putting out into the world.

It was about time I had a proper home for my work. A space that belongs to me.

So, maybe, in a strange way, I should thank META for giving me the final push to create something of my own. Something I should probably have done years ago.

But it's also heartbreaking to see how our words and images are being violated, restricted and silenced. How something as natural, powerful and important as birth can still be treated as something that needs to be hidden. It feels like we're moving backwards, and that genuinely breaks my heart.

So, welcome to my little universe.

A place where I can share freely. Where birth, women's bodies, stories, art, grief, beauty and everything in between can exist without asking for permission.

A place no algorithm gets to decide what belongs.

And, most importantly, a place no one can take away from me.
